Gabrielle Varbetian

Soprano

Introduced to music as a child, Gabrielle soon turned to singing. After 6 years with the Maîtrise des Bouches-du-Rhône, she went on to train at the conservatoires of Marseille and Strasbourg, before completing her DNSPM at the CNSMD in Lyon in the early music singing class of Robert Expert and Anne Delafosse, in June 2021.

Her main repertoire is early and contemporary, and she performs with a number of ensembles, including Concerto Soave (Jean-Marc Aymes), Musicatreize (Roland Hayrabedian), Les éléments (Joël Suhubiette) and Les Kapsber'girls (Albane Imbs). She will be singing under the direction of Sigiswald Kuijken in 2019, playing the character of Vespina in Haydn's opera L'infedeltà delusa. Since the same year, she has also been part of the Dalok project, which brings together three women's voices and the Ardéal string trio to perform the written and traditional music of Hungary. The Nóta trio emerged from this project, bringing together the three singers to perform the same repertoire a capella.

Gabrielle performs solo and in ensembles at festivals such as Mars en Baroque, Le rivage des voix, Le son des pierres, the Festival de Chaillol, Via Aeterna, and soon at the Boston Early Music Festival with the ensemble Doulce Memoire (Denis Raisin Dadre).
