Bérénice Brejon

Recorder

Bérénice Brejon de Lavergnée began playing the recorder at the CRR in Lyon, where she was already enrolled on a dance course. After a preparatory class in literature and a degree in modern literature, she joined Sébastien Marq's class at the Pôle Supérieur de Paris, where she obtained a degree in recorder and musicology in 2018. She also holds a bachelor's degree in music pedagogy and a master's degree in musicology from the University of Lyon 2, and a master degree in recorder. She is now studying for a master's degree in ancient bassoon at the Haute École de Musique in Geneva.

She is particularly interested in late medieval music, and has conducted university research into the notions of subtlety and speculative music in the ars subtilior. Her repertoire ranges from medieval music to contemporary works. In 2019, she and Benjamin Delale founded the ensemble La Camerata Chromatica, with whom they have organised numerous residencies and concerts (Athens, Riga, Torroella, Ambronay, Lyon, Marseille, Charolles, etc.). In 2020, the ensemble is a laureate of the European Union's Eeemerging+ programme.
